HHS 2004 Environmental Workshop ProceedingsExecutive Order 13148, Greening the Government through Leadership in Environmental Management requires that training be conducted regarding requirements and implementation of environmental management systems (EMS). To ensure continuity in training efforts within the Department, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Environmental Quality Office hosted in 2004, for the third year, its annual environmental workshop, which covered a myriad of topics related to EMS. DHHS partnered with the Department of Agriculture and provided a two-day training workshop on May 4-5, 2004. Opening remarks were provided by John Howard, the Federal Environmental Executive. In 2005, the Departments of Health and Human Services, Agriculture and Transportation, with support from the Office of the Federal Environmental Executive, have scheduled the next environmental training workshop for May 3 and 4, 2005. Training is at no cost and will be held at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Bethesda campus. Attendees from various federal agencies are invited to attend.
