2nd International Expert meeting on a 10-Year Framework of Programmes for Sustainable Consumption
The 2nd International Expert meeting on a 10-Year Framework of
Programmes for Sustainable Consumption and Production as contained in
Chapter III of the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation was held in Costa
Rica in September 2005. Federal Environmental Executive Edwin Piñero
attended and co-chaired a working group.
Other US delegates included
the State Department and the Department of Commerce. This meeting is
the second in series of experts' meetings to discuss the topic, as
directed in the outputs of the 2002 Sustainable Development Summit in
Africa.
OFEE was involved due to the prominence of federal procurement
and government as a consumer as a driving force behind sustainable
consumption and production.
