On February 4, 2004 President Bush signed an Executive Order on Federal Real Property Asset Management to promote the efficient and economical use of Federal real property resources in accordance with their value as national assets and in the best interests of the Nation. Of specific note are the statements regarding application of life cycle costing and environmental concepts, and the requirement for conformance with Executive Order 13148 (Section 3(b)(iii) and (vi); as well as 4(b) and 4(b)(v)). Such statements clearly illustrate the Administration's interest in and commitment to the integration of environmental management concepts into operational activities of the Federal community.
